Wyoming had a small, but much-used fleet of aircraft by the beginning of 1932. Airplane census in Wyoming in 1932 showed there were 67 total airplanes in the state, 49 pilots, 67 mechanics. The planes mostly used 28 landing fields—11 municipal, two commercial, 12 intermediate and three auxiliary. Source: Green River Star, Feb. 19, 1932, p. 7.
Here is a photo of an airplane parked in front of the engineering building, UW, that evidently, was pushed from the Laramie airport (located at the time where the soccer field is on fraternity/sorority row) across 15th Street, and along Willett, past the Half Acre Gym (or across Prexy’s) to the front of the building for a demonstration of flight.
Enjoyed story about Mrs Barriers;
Access for the disabled was a problem at the Capitol Building in the early 1970’s. Legislator Lynn Dickey, a Sheridan Democrat, was wheelchair bound as the result of a car accident.
There were steps at all entrances to the Capitol. Usually Lynn’s colleagues carried you up those steps in the baseent to the parking lot at the rear of the building..
But occasionally she worked later or was otherwise delayed. It was then she would come to the press room in the basement and ask for help. Kathy Magers, a co-worker for the CST, and I would haul her wheelchair and Lynn up those step so she could reach her car.
Laater ramps were installed and our services were no longer needed.

Thanks. I knew Lynn Dickey, but didn’t know about this. Should have because the Capitol at the time was extremely inaccessible.
